Tammy: "Writing letters to our children is so very important! I started a journal book to Angelia before she was born and have been writing to her for four years now. Sometimes 6 months will go by before I remember to stop and write. I want to encourage all parents to buy a special journal book and begin writing to your children.

Write about your everyday lives and the funny, special moments that you share. Let other family members and important people jot a note to your child at their birthday, Christmas or other special occasions. I know Angelia might not appreciate this until she is in her 20’s probably, but I know it will be one of her most precious treasures from that point on. Take the time to share your heart in writing... to everyone you love!"

Here are some of my journal entries:

Sweet Angelia,
What an amazing year this has been - so many new additions and changes. I want you to know that I am very happy for your Daddy and "Ms Paula." Now that your Daddy has remarried you have many new additions to your life. I will never forget the day you told me, "Mommy! I'm going to have two brothers, a sister, two cats, a dog, a goldfish, a hermit crab.. and now I will even have two mommies." We sat and talked about that and I when you asked me "Mommy, what am I going to call Ms. Paula now?" I simply encouraged you to talk that over with your Daddy and that you can call her anything you want - even Mommy. It is so important to me that you are free to love us all the same and that you can have complete freedom in your heart and with your words.

Sweetie - you have SO many people in your life that are cheering for you and I am especially happy that they all love you the way they do! Your Daddy, Ms. Paula and I all want the absolute best for you! I am excited to see how God will work through all of our lives for the next 50+ years... it's going to be an amazing journey!

Thank you for being my sweet little angel! You are my heart!

Love, Mommy

Christmas Morning 2003

Hello my little love! I wish I could see your sweet face this morning, but I know you are happy and having a wonderful time with your Daddy’s family in Georgia. It brings me deep joy to know that you are having fun down there and that your life is full of very special people. We will celebrate Christmas on Saturday when you return from your trip and it will be magical all over again! Be free, little Angelia, to love your Dad and all his family! You are such a gift to all of us and so today I celebrate the fact that God gave me you and that you are happy! Happy Birthday to Jesus and thank you, Jesus, for sweet Angelia!

Xoxo I Love You!!!!!

xoxo Mommy
